REASI, June 17: A week long historical Kounsar Nag yatra alongwith `Charri Mubarak’ will start from July 6, 2018.
Convenor of Kounsar Nag Yatra Committee, Thakan Dass in a meeting held at Reasi declared the yatra schedule from here. He said the Kounsar Nag yatra along with historical Charri Mubarak was organized successfully in the past due to which the popularity and awareness about Reasi-Chassana route gained huge momentum and a lot of public hailing from different parts of the State expressed willingness to join yatra this year.
Kounsar Nag is one of the highest altitude springs of Kashmir situated at 30 km from Aharbal. The spring simmer with fresh, crystal clear glacial waters and covers an area of 5 km in length and 2.5 kms in breadth.
Addressing the committee members , Thakan Dass said efforts would be made to promote the Kounsar Nag as tourist destination.
The committee members demanded to start chopper service for this religious place so that more and more pilgrims visits this shrine. He also demanded to install temporary bathrooms, changing rooms and install tents near the Kounsar Nag lake so that pilgrims stay there in the night as of now there is no facility for staying at night .
