KP bodies demand restoration of power supply in Jagti camp

JAMMU, May 17:  A joint meeting of Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) and Soan Kashmir Front (SFC) was held at Jagti camp here today, wherein various issues of migrant Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) including prolonged power curtailment, were discussed.
Addressing the participants, president of the Associations, Shadi Lal Pandita, expressed grave concern over 18 hour power cut in the Jagti camp. He said that the prolonged power curtailment has made the inmates of the camp to suffer hard.
He alleged that during the past two years, various inmates in the Camp lost their life by  heat stroke occurred due to prolonged power curtailment. He appealed the State Government and the concerned authorities to restore proper power supply in the migrant camp to avoid further loss of life.
The meeting said that the State Government as well as Central Government are liable to meet all expenses of Kashmiri  Pandit migrants till their permanent rehabilitation in Kashmir valley in a safe and secular place.
The speakers further demanded due compensation to the migrant families for the huge loss of properties in the Valley since their exile.
Those who participated in the meeting were Shuban Raina, Rajinder Dhar, Rattan lal Bhat, Ml Akhnoon, SN Gurtu, ML Pandita, SL Kar, Ashok Tiku, Ramesh Bhat and many others.
