JAMMU, Oct 9: In joint collaboration, All India Kashmiri Samaj, Vemedh Rangmanch and Kashmir Kashyap Sabha Gurgaon organised a thought provoking programme aiming at enriching and preservation of the cultural heritage, overall development of the treasure of youth in the community along with future-planned sports activities, and infusing and encouraging the philanthropic service going on already by different organisations like KMCET.
Chairing the dice, Prof B. L. Zutshi, an educationist and socio-political activist, urged the youth to continue their struggle for not only excelling in various departments of life but also inculcate the spirit of service to the needy persons under the circumstances when the community is facing critical period in terms of health hazards. ‘Sports is a platform where one learns team work, discipline and faith in one’s own self and the youth should laboriously also transform this sportsmanship spirit into the service to the KP Community.
In his address, V K Kashkari, convener, AIKS, Jammu said that, his organisation as ever, is behind the aptitude of the youth as our progeny is the hope of future in these dark times.  Quoting the proverb all work and no play makes a Jack dull boy, he urged the youth to be focussed and determined in their aspired goals.
Earlier, Ajay Pandita, general secretary, KKS Gurgaon, was honoured for his contribution in the field of youth services and for his efforts of preserving the cultural identity of the displaced community. Pandita resolved to create more community events so that Kashmiri Pandits play an important role in keeping themselves well-knit and homogenous which is the need of the hour.  This year in the forthcoming cricket tournament, more than 30 teams are expected to take part, he added.
Pledging to dedicate the tournament for the social cause like KMCET is performing, he said the money got from sponsors would be donated to this organisation which is doing yeoman’s job in helping the needy members who have been caught in the jaws of dreaded diseases.
Representing KMCET, Sunil Thusoo, while thanking the community members for coming forward for this noble cause, he however said that in these critical times, more is to be done.
AIKS Secretary, Aryan Ramesh, conducted the programme and introduced the guests.
