KP bodies protest against ransacking of quarter

JAMMU, July 27: Various KP organizations have strongly condemned the ransacking of the residential room of community leader and writer Prof G K Muju at Srinagar by some unscrupulous elements and accused the police of its failure in safeguarding the property including valuable books and electric gadgets, furniture and clothes of Prof Muju.
While All Migrant Camp Coordination Committee (AMCCC) held a strong protest against the act here today Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) also condemned it strongly.
President AMCCC, Desh Rattan and chairman Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) Advocate M L Thusu termed the highhandedness of some unscrupulous elements who have broken the lock of the room number 207 allotted to KP leader in Hotel Dolfin Srinagar as unfortunate. They said Prof Muju an octogenarian had contested elections from Valley on BJP ticket and he was also looking after various Hindu educational institutions run by the community for decades together in Valley.
They said if the Government could not ensure the safety of a social and political activist whose all household goods were thrown out from the room then how can it claim the return of the community to Valley and it appears all the claims in this regard are baseless.
The leaders of the two organizations also accused the police of its failure in arresting the culprit responsible for the death of a KP youth on June 23 at Paloura. They said though Damana police claims that the youth Ravinder Kumar Koul, S/o Radha Krishan Koul of Purkhoo was killed in a road accident as per the FIR registered in the Police Station the family apprehends a foul play in his death.
They said that if the youth has been killed in road accident the police should have apprehended the driver or seized the vehicle as the deceased was the sole bread earner of the family which is now totally in distress.
