KP Forum for one place settlement in Valley

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Mar 3: All Displaced Kashmiri Pandit United Forum in its meeting held under the chairmanship of D N Kissu here, today expressed its astonishment over the announcements made by the State and Central Governments on return and rehabilitation issue of displaced Pandits.
The meeting said the Government is making the announcements whatever suits it and not a single formula regarding the return and rehabilitation has worked so far as there is no comprehensive programme and policy in place on this subject.
The meeting said that the two governments even after the 24 years of the exile of the community have neither an iota of the feeling of the pain, sufferings and the problems the community is facing nor they want to know about it. Since the elections are round the corner present announcements are being made in this background only, it added.
Mr Kissu said that Forum has made its stand known on return of the community and it is firm that post rehabilitation security of the community in Valley is its prime concern and no compromise can be made over it because community does not want to be hounded out and uprooted again.
The meeting demanded that in view of such apprehensions of the community the displaced Pandits be settled at a single place in Kashmir. Prof G L Koul chief advisor of the Forum said that aspirations of the community can be met to some extent by reserving two seats for the community in the Assembly.
P N Riana general secretary of the Forum said that    not a single promise has been fulfilled by the Government including enhancement of cash relief, implementation of PM’s package, removal of encroachments etc while P K Riana expressed concern over delay in passage of Temples Bill.
