JAMMU, July 24: Appealing the community to support the Comprehensive Political Agenda (CPA) of KP Joint Action (KJA) so that the Kashmiri Pandit issues get the attention they deserve, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo chairman of the KJA said that they will continue the struggle till goal is achieved.
Chrungoo said this in his presidential address to a joint meeting of its Core Committee and Advisory Council here, today.
He said C P A needs to be put before the nation and the Government with renewed vigour and involvement of community activists. The opportunities those have been given by the circumstances need to be converted into a reality so far as the struggle in exile is concerned.
The meeting was attended among others by R.K.Bhat, general secretary, KP Joint Action, H.N.Jattu, chairman, Advisory Council, A.K.Dewani, Sardar Premsingh, Virender Raina, Kamal Bagati and Suraj Krishen Kaul, M.K.Jalali, M.K.Raina, K.L.Bhat and Sundari Lal Kaul. He discussed the current socio-political scenario and particularly the issue of the comprehensive political agenda presented to the Government by the KP Joint Action.
Chrungoo, gave details of the activities undertaken during the last three months in and outside the State. He emphasized the younger generations are to be involved in the struggle.
He said we also had the opportunity to take the CPA to different States including Delhi, Haryana, Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh.
R.K.Bhat, general secretary lambasted the Governments for their failure in implementing several promises that were made to the community. He said that the Joint Action has no alternative and every displaced community member has developed a great hope in its leadership. “We have the capacity to change the course of history during our life time and it is the time to do it. The present generation cannot wait for Government to find lame excuses in regard to the KP issues”, he added.
He said that the youth have already intensified their struggle so far as the implementation of the PM’s special employment package is concerned and focussed on the Vision Document proposal to bring at par all the Valley posted employees with the other ‘migrant employees’.
H.N.Jattu, chairman of the Advisory Council stressed upon the importance of greater cohesion among the members of the KP Joint Action and also for forging closer ties with the members of the groups who are hitherto not the members of the KP Joint action as yet.
A.K.Dewani, senior leader emphasized that the time has come to talk straight about the core concerns of the KP community without any ambiguity. He wanted youth activists to come forward.
M.K. Jalali, another senior leader said that the community faces multitude of problems and there is an imminent need to address the day to day livelihood issues of the community.
