JAMMU, Apr 24: KP Joint Action organized a meeting of its Central Committee and the Advisory Council here today to finalise the action programme for the coming months.
The meeting also stressed upon roping in of younger generation of the community in the struggle.
The meeting was chaired by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, Chairman, KP Joint Action and was attended among others by senior leaders R.K.Bhat, H N Jattu, Virender Raina, Vijay Kashkari, Murarji Kaul, Ajay Safaya, Prof A K Ogra, Gokul Dembi, M K Jalali, K L Bhat, Sundari Lal Kaul, Kiran Jee Dhar, Shiban Krishen Kaul and Kamal Bagati.
Senior leader Utpal Koul who came from Delhi also addressed the meeting. There were also four special invitees Prof M K Raina, B L Garyali, Prof C L Sadhu and Avinash Aima.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo in his address said that “we have to bring our younger generations closer to the ideological contours of the struggle as well as make them aware about the day to day livelihood issues. The civilizational issues like the protection of temples in Kashmir and the passage of the Bill regarding the Hindu shrines of Valley are very important concerns which the younger generations would ultimately have to carry forward with commitment and dedication.
R.K.Bhat, president, Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj expressed optimism that in the days to come the issues related to employment and Valley based package employees would be taken up vigorously with the concerned authorities. All attempts would be made to sensitize the Government about the difficulties faced by the employees at different levels. The selected candidates under the writ petition category would be given due priority in the process of appointment. He demanded that a separate Recruitment Agency should be set up for selection process.
H N Jattu, said that the KP Joint Action is the most appropriate and timely initiative that has the potential to redefine the nature of the Kashmiri Pandit struggle in exile.
Virender Raina said that the KP Joint Action has taken upon itself the onerous task to unite the rank and file of the community on a single platform so as to create the much needed traction in the KP community affairs.
The members gave there valuable suggestions and stressed upon the need to intensify the campaign for the rights of the KP community in exile. The members also said that they are demanding their constitutional and political rights as the citizens of the country and as aborigines KPs have the first right over the territory and the resources of Kashmir.
Senior community leader Sunil Shakhdar has also assured his full support to KP Joint Action.
