KP organizations appeal community members to reject boycott call

JAMMU, Sept 10: A meeting of Kashmiri Pandit organizational heads and representatives from camps as well as non camps was held under the aegis of All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference ( ASKPC) under the chairmanship of veteran KP leader and ASKPC – R, Marg Darshak Moti Lal Malla , where in community was appealed to take part in the ongoing election process in large numbers surpassing the number recorded in the recently held Parliamentary election.
KP voters were appealed to vote according to their consciousness keeping in view their democratic right and their fundamental duty. The meeting laid stress upon the voters not to listen to the dictates or statements asking voters to refrain from voting.
It was said that these boycott calls are unacceptable to the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community voters who have pledged to vote in favour of their choicest parties or candidates. The groups giving poll boycott calls were advised to desist from issuing such unacceptable appeals which were described harmful for the community.
Rejecting such statements all Kashmiri Pandit community voters were appealed not to give ear to such statements but to prove that for all Kashmiri Pandits, nation is first and they honour the Constitution of the country.
Kashmiri Pandits are of firm belief that it is this democratic duty discharging that will help them to get their grievances addressed and problems solved through their representative Government.
Appeal was made to break the record of voting in this election. The boycott call was strongly condemned and outrightly rejected in the meeting. Besides, others this meeting was also attended by Ashok Dhar, president TRT Buta Nagar, representatives from All Displaced Kashmiri United Forum( ADKUF), representatives of PNBMT and representatives from all the ten districts of Kashmir.
