JAMMU, Sept 22: KP youth held a massive demonstration at Jagti today against the increasing terror attacks and the prevailing situation in Valley created by the separatists and other radical forces.
The demonstrators said the increasing Fidayeen attacks especially on army and security forces is a cause of concern for the displaced Pandits who have been forced to flee from the Valley under the same circumstances 27 years back and till date the government has failed to rehabilitate them in their homeland.
The protestors said the present unrest and mob violence is also a part of big conspiracy against the rehabilitation of Pandits the indigenous people of Kashmir having over 5000 year long civilizational background in the Valley. They urged the government of India to take concrete steps for the honorable and dignified return of Pandits to their homeland who are now leading an exiled life for last 27 years.
Earlier the youth held an interactive session with police officers in which youth were urged to play a positive role in nation building. The youth leaders also demanded that police should launch a special recruitment drive for KP youth in police and para military forces.
Later a candle march was taken to pay tributes to the 18 armymen who attained martyrdom at Uri as well as those members of security forces and civilians who laid down their lives while fighting terrorism in the State.
Sanjay Raina, Sunil Razdhan, Ishu Bhat, Sunil Pandita, Suny and Tej Krishan led the protest.
