KPC accuses Govt of neglecting displaced Pandits in last 3 decades

JAMMU, Dec 22: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) in a meeting today at New Delhi, expressed grave concern over continuous 30 years long displacement of Kashmiri Pandits as well their agony whose plight remained unheard over these years.
Addressing the meeting, KPC, chief Kundan Kashmiri expressed solidarity with all the members of the Community residing in different parts of the country and abroad saying that despite facing many challenges for survival they did not give in and continued their struggle for their rights.
He also reminded them that holy land of Kashyap Reshi is main base of the community where its history and culture are deep rooted since times immemorial. He impressed upon them that “separate Kahyap Bhoomi” for entire KP community is only sacred goal to achieve’’.
Kundan Kashmiri, said that KPC will strike with full force and fight for its rights, with all legal, Constitutional and other necessary means, for restoration of all fundamental rights to this peace loving community which became victim of Muslim terrorism.
He stated that the Government has not given proper attention towards the grievances and demands of displaced KPs for the last 30 years which resulted that the confidence of the   community has been shaken. He reminded the Government that the minorities anywhere in the world are being regarded as a sacred trust with the Government. It is imperative for the Government to always keep in mind the socio-cultural, educational, political economic and religious interests of the minorities. He hoped and expected that the State and Central governments would assess the condition of the KP minorities of the J&K State and take prompt measures to improve the same and remove their legitimate grievances and accept their demands.
