NEW DELHI, Sept 17: KPC in a meeting here today expressed serious concern over snatching of rescue boat from NDRF team by separatist Yasin Malik to create hurdle in rescue operations at Srinagar.
The meeting which was attended by the KPC leaders was chaired by its president Kundan Kashmiri. It also condemned State Government as administrative machinery has completely broke down in Kashmir as no State officers or cops to be seen in the rescue missions.
It said that at many places in Srinagar Pro-Pak and anti-Indian elements have attacked various rescue team members which include two NDRF members namely Sameer Parida and Karnail Singh at Boulevad road Srinagar with sharp-edged weapons. Both were evacuated and Sameer Parida has been shifted to Chandigarh hospital for treatment.
Hospitals are without even drinking water and life-saving drugs for their patients. Hindu and Sikh families are taking shelter in Gurdwaras and temples with out any help from Government.
The rescue operations to evacuate the acutely flood hit victims and reach out help to them are being carried out almost by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the Army personnel. it is shocking to note that the State administration, particularly Jammu and Kashmir Police, is nowhere in the scene to, help or guide the Army and NDRF to carry forward rescue operations.
