NEW DELHI, May 25: Expressing grave concern over meeting of senior Congress leader Mani Shankar Iyer, and his team, with Hurriyat leaders Ali Shah Geelani, Umar Farooq and Shabir Shah at Srinagar today said the nationalist people of the country are totally against holding of talks with those who waged a war against the nation and are opposed to accept the Indian Constitution.
In a statement issued here today KPC chief Kundan Kashmiri said it is unfortunate that Congress leaders are holding talks with those who are opposing Constitution of India and pleading either to merge with Pakistan or to get independence or autonomy for J&K State.
He said the KPC in a meeting at New Delhi today while criticising the role of the Congress leaders was of the opinion that instead of meeting to sufferers and militancy victims of the State,Mani Shankar Iyer and his group met to those separatists and pro–Pak leaders who are responsible for destruction of Valley, provoking the youths and hobnobbing with Pakistan to disintegrate India.
Kundan Kashmiri stated that there is nothing to talk with these Hurriyat leaders as Kashmir is a settled issue ,it can not be discussed and debated again and again. Such meetings are disadvantageous which embolden the separatist elements. He said to talk over autonomy or self rule to the State would automatically mean withdrawal of all Central laws and institutions from J&K,. It will deprive people of the State civil and political rights which are today available to them. It will also mean a step short of complete independence of J&K from India.
