JAMMU, June 26: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) today demanded consolidated rehabilitation of Pandits in Valley and abrogation of Article 370.
In a statement issued here, today, KPC chief Kundan Kashmiri said that without consolidated rehabilitation of Pandits in Valley and abrogation of Article 370 their return was not possible.
He said the issue was also discussed by his organization with the Union Home Ministry team recently. He appealed the community to maintain unity at all costs and not to believe rumors as the entire leadership is one on the issue and there will be no compromise on it.
He said the Pandits are victims of genocide and unless and until a Commission of Inquiry is constituted and culprits responsible for the mass exodus and killing of hundreds members of community and razing their houses and religious places the community can’t trust the Government which watched its destruction as a mute spectator.
He also lambasted Hurriyat hardliner Syeed Ali Shah Geelani opposing settlement of Pandits at a consolidated place or in townships and said that the agents of foreign countries can’t dictate terms to Pandits and the Indian Government. He said Pandits are main party to Kashmir issue and Geelani must realize that high handedness of separatists will not work always.
