KPC for fool proof security to Kheer Bhawani yatris

NEW DELHI, June 7: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) in its meeting here today held under the chairmanship of it president Kundan Kashmiri while discussing prevailing situation in Kashmir valley expressed grave concern over the recent militants attacks in different parts of the Valley.
The meeting demanded that fool proof arrangements be made for the holy Kheer Bhawani yatris to Tulmulla, Tikker, Manzgam, Hoshur etc on Zeassht Astami falling on June 16 and for the pilgrims of holy Amarnath in view of the threats by Pak trained militants across the border.
The meeting said the fool proof security measures have become necessary in view of the reports that the militants are trying to infiltrate from across the border and may indulge in attacks as stated by Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde in Chief Ministers’ conference recently.
Kashmiri said that militants’ threats can create fear psychosis among the masses hence a comprehensive security cover for the yatris was needed.
He also made an appeal to Government to ensure all facilities to yatris including free electricity, medicare, water supply, tents and other type of accommodation.
