KPC for restoration of migrant land in Tral

JAMMU, Feb 13: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has urged the Government to immediately remove the encroachments from the migrants land and property in Kashmir Valley.
In a statement issued here today Kundan kashmiri president KPC said it is unfortunate that on the one hand the Government was talking about the return of displaced people to Valley while on the other the Government agencies are busy in encroaching the migrants land for construction of buildings, Bus Stands, dispensaries, roads and other projects.
He said in all the cases even the owners of land have not been informed or consulted nor were they paid any compensation.
Kashmiri said not only the private land of migrants but that belonging to religious places have also been taken up by the Government agencies for laying water pumps, construction of buildings etc in the length and breadth of the Valley.
Kashmiri said that in Tral district of Pulwama the land of one jai Krishan Kaul on which the residential house of the family was existing prior to migration has been encroached  by PDD which has installed a power transformer in it without the knowledge of displaced family.
He said the family is in distress as the house was already set ablaze soon after the mass exodus by the anti social elements and after they came to know they met every concerned officer with the plea to restore their land as they wanted to return and construct the residential house there but to no avail. He said the Tehsildar, Tral and SHO concerned were also informed but they failed to take any cognizance of the same.
Kashmiri has sought immediate intervention of Governor in the matter and urged him to get the land restored to the migrant family by shifting the transfer somewhere else.
He said when DCs are the custodians of migrants’ immovable property how the land was encroached by PDD and how the Revenue authorities allowed the same.
