JAMMU, July 8: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) chief Kundan Kashmiri and its Vice President Tej Pandita opposed the amnesty policy of J&K Government for stone pelters.
In a statement issued, they said that the present Government has withdrawn cases of 634 stone pelters and trouble makers and the previous NC Government had withdrawn 1845 cases of similar nature without any serious punishment for which they were liable.
KPC chief condemned double standard and discriminatory attitude adopted towards dozens of youths of Jammu, who were booked during 2008 Amarnath Land row. Kundan Kashmiri slammed State BJP leaders for maintaining criminal silence and doing nothing on this issue as they had earlier promised to get all cases of 2008 Amarnath land row withdrawn and traders to be compensated.
KPC demanded that such amnesty policy should not be adopted against these pro-Pak, anti-national stone pelters and trouble makers in future as it will encourage other anti-national and anti-social elements to indulge in such activities in the State. KPC also demanded immediate scrapping of cases against the protesters in 2008 Amarnath land row on the lines of amnesty given to stone-pelters of Kashmir Valley.
