JAMMU, Nov 26: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has made it clear it will not budge an inch from its demand of carving out a separate Kashyap State for the settlement of Pandits in Valley.
Addressing the members of his organisation here today Kundan Kashmiri president KPC cautioned those members of the community who are hobnobbing with Government on return issue and have extended support to settlement of Pandits in their original habitations. This step will be fraught with serious consequences as Pandits have already suffered a lot through the hands of militants and separatists supported by Pakistan.
He said the situation is not conducive for the return of the community to Valley and the militants influx from across border also continues creating a question mark on the return formula of the Government.
He said the Government should discuss the issue with community leaders threadbare and take steps for carving out a separate state within Valley with free flow of Indian constitution for Pandits.
The KPC leader has also expressed concern over the state of affairs religious places of Hindus in Kashmir and their encroachment by the anti social elements and land mafia. He took the Government to task for its failure in passage of Shrines and Temples Bill despite the repeated pleas of the community.
Mr Kashmiri has also sought information from the Government about the movable and immovable religious properties of Kashmiri Hindus and through another application addressed to DGP he has sought action against the killers of Pandits. He alleged that Government till date has failed to sue these killers in the court of law and file charge sheets against them
