JAMMU, Sept 10: Kashmiri Pandit Conference ( KPC) in a meeting here, today discussed overall issues and problems faced by Kashmiri Pandit community and expressed dismay for marginalizing , ignoring and taking the community for granted by the Government.
Kundan Kashmiri , president KPC while addressing the meeting stated that previous and present Governments have terribly failed the community , whether it be their rehabilitation, safety, security, property, temples, human rights, employment, development or share in political or administrative fields or in the welfare schemes.
He said that the silence and inaction of the Government and political parties at helm of affairs on the burning issues of KPs , is like sprinkling salt on the wounds of this victim community.
He said even after abrogation of Article 370 in J&K nothing has changed for the community, so it would be prudent and in overall interest of the community, that it’s organisations should join hands for common cause and defeat their tormentors and force New Delhi to adopt an urgent policy that gives justice to them, empowers and compensates them against the losses suffered by them.
Kundan Kashmiri demanded appointment of a special Judicial Commission of Inquiry (CoI) headed by a retired judge of the Supreme Court to investigate the circumstances and scale of atrocities committed on the Kashmiri Hindus, and publish a white paper, to promote and preserve indigenous Kashmiri Hindu culture, time bound steps to restore all Hindu shrines and temples desecrated during the latest period of ethnic cleansing.
Besides, he demanded carving out of a safe place at the land of Kashyap (one place settlement in the Valley) where Kashmiri Hindus can live peacefully without any further fear, force, and intimidation.
