JAMMU, Oct 31: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) has rejected the five Marlas lollipop land scheme for employees of KP community working in Valley and reiterated its demand of “one place settlement” for all displaced Kashmiri Pandits.
In a letter to Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha, KPC chief, Kundan Kashmiri said that the community will not budge an inch from its demand of one place settlement within Valley with institutional and constitutional guarantees so that the community feels a sense of security there.
“No doubt abrogation of Article 370 has brought drastic change in political scenario of J&K and strengthened Government’s writ and control in the Valley under your dynamic leadership as well as leadership of Prime Minister, Narender Modi and Home Minister, Amit Shah, but it is very difficult to say, whether it would bring the permanent change in the separatist and radicalized mind set and in Kashmir centric political leadership in the Valley in particular youths, in coming times, who are brought under gun culture”.
“Today or tomorrow the political change in Jammu and Kashmir is certain and Union Territory status may get replaced by statehood, the immediate fallout of this political change in the UT would have adverse effect on victim Kashmiri Pandits again. There would be the re-transfer of power in those hands in Kashmiri who have separatist mind set and who left no stone unturned after October 1947 to muddy the Indian waters in the erstwhile State and helped and shielded the Pakistan proxies and their supporters. They will again get control on power, in particular to sensitive departments like Home, Revenue, Law, Finance and General Administration and others and use the same in their interests. Such situation have serious repercussions and the peace loving community of KPs can’t feel safe and secure under that atmosphere.”, the letter added while reiterating its one place settlement demand.
