JAMMU, Jan 5: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) in its meeting at Union Capital today has reiterated its demand that Kashmiri Pandits be settled at a single place in Valley which will ensure their proper return and retention.
The meeting, which was chaired by KPC president Kundan Kashmiri said that so far the Governments at Centre and State have failed to settle the KPs problems who are leading an exiled life for over 25 years now. He said KPC sticks to its stand on one place settlement of KPs by carving out a separate State for them in Valley.
The meeting while highlighting the other issues alleged that the delaying tactics adopted by the Government on the implementation of PM’s employment package, passage of Shrines and Temples Bill, settlement of problems of over aged youth of the community, grant of minority status to KPs etc has generated a lot of resentment among the community members.
He also demanded a thorough probe into last month’s fire incident at Jawala Ji Shrine and immediate reconstruction of shrine by Government on the pattern of other shrines of the Valley.
Kundan Kashmir also strongly advocated for abrogation of Article 370 saying that it was the cause of all problems in the State.
