KPC’s plea to Governor

JAMMU, Feb 20: Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) today sought the personnel intervention of Governor N N Vohra in settlement of long pending demands of the displaced Pandits.
The KPC, which met here, today under the leadership of its president Kundan Kashmiri has made an appeal to Governor, N N Vohra demanding immediate formation of Act for the protection of Hindu Shrines and Temples in Kashmir Valley.
Kashmiri said that successive Governments have failed to pass the shrines and temples bill and till the new Government takes over the Governor has the powers to promulgate an ordinance in this regard.
Kashmiri also demanded stern action against the secessionist elements in the State. He reiterated the demand that the PM package employees be appointed in Central Government Departm-ents and PSUs till situation becomes conducive in Kashmir for return of the displaced Pandits.
He made an appeal to Governor that the relief and ration be disbursed in advance prior to the holy festival of Maha Shivratri falling on March 6 and the essential commodities like walnuts etc be made available on festival time on controlled rates.
