NEW DELHI, Nov 2: A deputation of “Kashyap Kashmiri Sabha” (KKS), a Registered affiliate of All India Kashmiri Samaj, today called on Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, and assured of full support from the Kashmiri Pandit community to the Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming Assembly elections in Jammu & Kashmir.
Earlier, well known Hindi and Punjabi Film Actor of Kashmiri Pandit origin, Preeti Sapru also called on Dr. Jitendra Singh and offered to campaign for the Party in the State. She also suggested that she would bring along with her a number of other actors of Kashmiri origin to join the campaign.
Welcoming the representatives, Dr. Jitendra Singh said that Kashmiri Pandit community has traditionally stood for the ideals of nationalism and patriotism which are inherent to the “Vichar Dhara” or the basic ideology of the Bharatiya Janata Party and its legacy, which is nurtured by the sacrifices of great icons like Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay.
The integration of India and the development of Jammu & Kashmir in the national mainstream has always been the core agenda of Bharatiya Janata Party and its earlier incarnation, Bharatiya Jan Sangh, said Dr Jitendra Singh. It is for this ideology that the Kashmiri Pandit community also made exemplary sacrifices in the Valley and even had to go through the hardship of mass exodus, he added.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said, Bharatiya Janata Party was the only political organization in the country which came forward wholeheartedly in support of the displaced community and the States with the BJP Government also took unconventional steps for rehabilitation of the displaced persons through reservation for their children in colleges and educational institutions.
Over the last 65 years of independence, BJP has neither compromised with nationalism nor allowed dynasty rule or nepotism to perpetuate in the name of democracy and therefore, it is the natural destination and natural rallying point for all the nationalist sections of society, including Kashmiri Pandits.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said that the BJP manifesto pledges to work with all the sections of society and communities of the country without any discrimination and therefore, this is the only democratically viable dispensation where even the smallest minorities of the country can feel safe and secure.
The deputation of “Kashyap Kashmir Sabha” was led by its general secretary Ajay Pandita and secretary Sanjay Sapru, among other members.
