KPs condemn Geelani’s statement

JAMMU, Apr 19: Various Kashmiri Pandit organizations today strongly condemned the statement of Syed Ali Shah Geelani saying that two Kashmiri Pandits had visited his residence as emissaries of BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
Terming Geelanai’s statement over meeting of two KPs as Narendra Modi’s emissaries as mischievous, misleading and politically motivated, Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) chief Kundan Kashmiri asked the Hurriyat hardliner to name the two emissaries as claimed by him and proposal of talks they kept before him.
In a statement issued here today, Kashmiri said that KPs have pinned high hopes on Mr Modi.  He also advised agents and aids of Hurriyat, pseudo secularists and other separatist groups within the KP community not to create confusion among KPs for their selfish interests which could harm the overall interests of the community.
He also reiterated firm stand of KPs that Kashmir is a settled issue and there is no need to talk over this issue either with Geelani, Pakistan or with any other separatist group of Kashmir.
Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch (JKVM) while strongly condemning the statement of Mr Geelani insinuating that Kashmiri Pandit community members can trust him. Geelani’s animosity towards the law abiding numerically diminutive minority of Kashmir is well known, said JKVM in a statement issued from New Delhi.
His hands are soaked with the blood of ordinary Kashmiris and his role in extirpation of Pandit community is an established fact.
The statement said that Geelani continues to play politics with displaced community is clear from his statements from time to time. He thrives on divisive politics and is constantly engaged in widening the gap between Muslim majority and Hindu minority of Kashmir by creating suspicious and feat in the minds of majority community.
The statement while making a dig at Geelani said he openly opposed and threatened to start another agitation against establishment of transit camps for displaced Hindu employees in Valley.
President All India Kashmiri Pandit Conference (AIKPC), H N Jatoo while condemning the statement of Mr Geelani has asked him to name the two KP emissaries of BJP leader who met him instead of making a drama to seek publicity.
Mr Jatoo said Mr Geelani by such statements was trying to attain cheap publicity and have one upmanship over his rival group. He asked Mr Geelani to refrain from creating any controversy and in case nay emissary has met him he should name him publicly.
Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) president M L Thussoo and convener P L Kaul Badgami also strongly condemned the statement of Geelani saying the Hurriyat hardliner was again trying to create a controversy and vitiate the political atmosphere in the State by beating about the bush.
