Even then the overall result of camp schools in Jammu was 60 percent while the camp school at Durga Nagar excelled among all with 87 percent pass percentage in class 12th though the schools sans library, laboratory, staff rooms, play ground and has very less number of class rooms when the strength of students is 425 against the capacity of 330.
The PK leaders said despite the repeated pleas of the community members to provide basic infrastructural facilities to these schools the successive Governments paid a deaf ear to the problem.
Supporting their views Bharat Bushan Gosani a representative of ASKPC said that in Durga Nagar camp school pass percentage in Science stream was 75 percent with 24 subject positions, 34 distinctions and 31 first divisions.
He said in 10th class there was 83 percent pass percentage from the school and the majority of students reading in the class belonged to people from down-trodden and economically backward sections of society.
He said the staff and management in the camp schools is working under tremendous pressure as they have not been provided any facility or help by the Government and still the teachers work with the zeal and dedication to show better results and compete with other schools including the private educational institutions.
