KPs demand reservations in legislative bodies

JAMMU, Dec 23: Various organizations have demanded political reservations for Kashmiri Pandits in Assembly and Parliament.
In a joint statement Janta Dal United (JDU) leaders said they hoped reservations in Assembly and Parliamentary for Kashmiri migrants be considered by the Government as the community has been totally marginalized after the turmoil in Valley in every field of life.
JDU senior leaders Sanjay Dhar, Piaray Lal Pandita, Vivek Bali and others urged the Government of India to consider the long pending demand of political reservation of three seats and one women seat of Kashmiri migrants, on nomination basis.
Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) president, M L Thusoo and its convener, P L Koul Budgami have also demanded political reservation for displaced Pandits in Assembly and Parliament on the basis of ethnicity.
Roshan Lal Pandita president, Durga Nagar Welfare Committee Sector One has also fully supported the demand and made an appeal to Union Government in this regard.
