JAMMU, Mar 1: In view of Maha Shivratri festival falling on March 6, various KP bodies and leaders have appealed the Government to make elaborate arrangements and maintain a check on prices.
Senior BJP leader and member National Executive Women Wing of the Party Sheela Handoo has appealed the Government to make proper arrangements for Maha Shivratri festival and ensure supply of water, ration, power as well as maintaining proper check on rates besides making the essential commodities available during the days of festival.
She also demanded that the cleanliness drive be launched in camps and other non camp areas prior to festival.
BJP Unit Chinore Roop Nagar Bantalab in its meeting under the chairmanship of J L Bhan has also appealed the PHE and PDD to ensure the un interrupted water and power supply during the days of festival in the area. Bolanath Dhar and R K Koul, organizer and coordinating secretary of the Unit appealed the Government to make frequent supply of essential commodities like vegetables, dry fruit especially walnuts flower etc at reasonable rates through retail outlets and also ensure cleanliness in the area.
PDP leader and ex Sarpanch Nana Ji Raina has also made an appeal to Government to ensure the essential commodities like walnuts, vegetables as well as flowers available on controlled rates on the occasion of festival besides ensuring proper supply of water and power during the festival days.
