KPS holds Executive meet

JAMMU, Jan 11: A meeting of the Executive Committee of the K P Sabha (KPS) was held under the chairmanship of its president, K K Khosa to discuss various issues concerning the community and the response of the State and Central Governments on them.
The meeting said despite the assurances given by Government from time to time no concrete steps were taken to settle these issues. The PM’s employment package has not been implemented and only 25 percent jobs were filled up.
Addressing meeting Mr Khosa said the Sabha has been raising these issues at different foras from time to time.
He assured the members that the Sabha will continue to pressurize the Government to try and make up the lost ground in this last year of its term so as to mitigate the sufferings of the beleaguered community.
He said a large number of youth are becoming over-aged and for their rehabilitation they be given one time compensation.
He reiterated Sabh’s stand on the rehabilitation of KPs at three erstwhile districts Baramulla, Srinagar and Anantnag in Kashmir Valley and said that this was even highlighted in his welcome address during YAIKS convention before Chief Minister.
