JAMMU, Oct 30: Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS), Ambphalla, held a meeting under the chairmanship of its president KK Khosa and discussed the situation arisen due to malicious intentions of the Minister for Relief by putting special impediments to deny displaced Kashmiri Pandits from taking monthly ration thereby causing a great concern to entire community.
It is only the weaker sections who will suffer more by these retrograde actions. The Relief Commissioner has been made a conduit in this process.
The members expressed anguish at the impetuous attitude of coalition partner over their silence on the issue.
KK Khosa while speaking said that Government is trying to take reprehensive steps in disposal of matters pertaining to displaced in matters of encroachment of personal property temple/Shrine lands, institutional property etc.
He added that no tangible solution has been found for several vexed issues of displaced by the new dispensation denying them political economic space. Khosa said that the earlier Apex Committee model proved a failure and a new structure in a truly representative character should be convened urgently.
It seems that the present political dispensations in league with hostile bureaucracy is trying to usurp displaced institutions and public property, which will not be tolerated, he added.
Braroo, senior vice president reminded Chief Minister that educational institution like DAV Higher Secondary School, Gogji Bagh, Srinagar which suffered damage last year in flood is denied permission for reconstruction inspite of the fact that CM had assured KP representatives in a meeting convened by him in Delhi in presence of Ram Madhav and Amitabh Matoo, that permission will be granted.
Members expressed deep anguish and said that all repressive and regressive steps initiated by Relief Commissioner at the behest of Minister concerned need to be immediately reversed, otherwise it will be a catastrophe and community may be forced to come on streets. They appealed the displaced brothern to be prepared for a struggle in case the problems and hurdles created by Government are not addressed to the satisfaction of community.
