JAMMU, Dec 9: Various KP organisations have strongly condemned the blasphemous remarks of PDP leader Ilitija Mufti against Hindus.
In a meeting of KP thought leaders held in Delhi NCR, the recent tweet of Iltija Mufti,”Ram the deity must hang his head in shame. Hindutva is a disease that has afflicted millions of Indians & sullied a Gods name”was decried and was termed as blasphemous.
Dr Ramesh Raina a senior KP leader while addressing the meeting questioned the qualification of Mufti to make such statements that have the potential of triggering a communal confrontation. He reminded the nation of the Nupur Sharma episode in this regard which shook the entire Country. He added that her only qualification was that she was born to the family of Muftis which has always held very strong communal ideology despite having held the responsible position as the head of the Government of the erstwhile State of J&K on multiple occasions. It is, thus, not very surprising that such a poisonous statement comes from the family member of Muftis which, it is perceived, had a hidden hand behind the orchestration of the Anantnag riots against KPs in 1986.
Dr. Raina strongly condemned the tweet by Iltija Mufti, which disrespects Lord Rama, a revered deity of millions of Hindus across the globe, and equates Hindutva with a disease. Such statements are not only deeply hurtful to the sentiments of the Hindu community but also undermine the fabric of mutual respect and harmony that holds our society together.
He called upon Mufti to retract her statement and offer an unconditional apology to the Hindu community for her remarks. He asked the leader of PDP, Mehbooba Mufti, to make a statement on the deplorable remarks from her daughter.
Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC) said the divisive remarks by Iltija Mufti over Hindutva and Lord Rama are derogatory and Insult to Hindus community
KPC chief , said such remarks are not only an insult to the Hindu community but a calculated attempt to undermine the unity and dignity of India’s ancient civilization.
He said that individuals like the Muftis and Abdullahs have a long history of fuelling hatred and supporting those who destabilize peace and harmony.
He warned that the divisive rhetoric of such leaders is deeply dangerous. It ignites hatred against Hindus, misguides Kashmiri Muslims into embracing extremism, and perpetuates a toxic cycle of alienation and violence.
Senior BJP leader , Pawan Sharma has also strongly condemned the outbursts of Ilitija Mufti and termed them defamatory. She termed Iltija’s remarks against Hindutva are inflammatory and blasfamous which are untolerable. She termed her statement is result of her desperation as people of Kashmir have already rejected her and her party in recently held Lok Sabha and Assembly elections.
Sharma said she is championing the cause of ‘Break India’ forces and aligning with the Tukde tukde Gang. “By abusing Hindus the world’s most tolerant community, she is playing with the fire and pushing a dangerous agenda.
