KPS urges Govt to pace up process of rehabilitation

JAMMU, Nov 25: The members of Kashmiri Pandit Sabha (KPS) urged upon the Government to paceup the process for their rehabilitation.
The demand in this regard was raised by the KPs in a meeting of the newly constituted executive committee held here today.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of recently un-opposed elected president K K Khosa to guide the sabha for ensuing term.
The members also thanked over seven hundred life members of the sabha for reposing their trust in the leadership of K K Khosa due to his visionary outlook and unflinching integrity that is required to take care of more than a century old prestigious organization.
The members vowed to leave no stone unturned in making all round efforts to work for the cause of return and rehabilitation of the community to Kashmir valley with dignity, honour and sense of security.
Speaking on the occasion, the members urged the government to pay heed to this vital issue of return and rehabilitation without further procrastination by reaching out to the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community leadership and evolve a robust policy particularly in view of the positive changes that have taken place in the UT in past five years.
They also expressed their satisfaction over the steps that have been taken by the UT government to address the issues of the PM package employees but with some delays that exist even today and invite attention to it.
The sabha appealed the Union and the UT governments to extend a helping hand to the downtrodden section of Kashmiri Pandits living in exile particularly in Jammu who survive upon the meager relief of Rs 3650 per soul and enhance the relief substantially to enable them to keep their body and soul together in exile.
