Krishana Prem to be conferred SBSM Award

JAMMU, Oct 25: Krishana Prem, veteran Dogri short story writer will be conferred upon first Shri Bandhu Sharma Memorial (SBSM) Award-2024 for her collection of short stories in Dogri language entitled ‘Kasturi’.
The award has been constituted by the family of celebrated Dogri short story writer and Sahitya Akademi awardee Bandhu Sharma in collaboration with Dogri Sanstha Jammu.
According to Prof Lalit Magotra (president, Dogri Sanstha Jammu), this is the first award and will be given for the best collection of short stories or novel written in Dogri language during the last 5 years. The award carries prize money of Rs 21,000, citation, memento, shawl and will be given in a function to be organized on 2nd November 2024 at Dogri Sanstha, Dogri Bhawan, Karan Nagar Jammu.
He further stated that this is a prestigious award constituted in the memory of Bandhu Sharma, who was a prolific dogri writer and her short stories have inspired many. This year Sanstha got 17 books including novels and collections of short stories and the jury decided unanimously to honour veteran short story writer Krishana Prem for her collection ‘Kasturi’.
