JAMMU, Dec 16: Kashmiri Sewak Samaj (KSS) Faridabad observed 10 death anniversary of Padmashree Pt J N Kaul today at Sharika Bhawan,Sector 17 Faridabad.
Padmashree Prof Sudhir Sopory, former Vice Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University was the chief guest on the occasion. In his speech he highlighted the role of the towering personality of J.N Kaul and about the services rendered by him in social and educational fields by helping the orphan and most deserving children of India who had been victims of natural calamities.
Dr S K Handoo, president KSS, read the welcome address. He said, Kashmiri Pandit community fully acknowledges the services rendered to humanity by Kaul who was popularly known as Pappa Ji, not only as the president of KSS, but also as founder president of SOS, president of AIKS and KECSS which are the prominent Kashmiri Pandit associations.
Siddartha Kaul and Girija Bhan joined in paying flowery tributes to Kaul. In their address, they threw light on the role of Papa Ji.
A special issue of KSS Newsletter, dedicated to the great services rendered by Papaji, was released on the occasion.
On this occasion, Kashmiri Sewak Samaj honoured Dr Agnishekhar, Prof. CL Sapru, Ashok Pandit,
Mohit Raina, Kailash Mehra Sadhu, Brijkishorie Zutshi, Lakxmi Kaul, Sushma Kalla, Sunita Raina, Sunil Fotedar, A N Kaul Sahaib, C L Kaul, K L Langoo, Brij Nath Kaul, KMECT, Radio Shardha, PYCT, Late Vijay Malla, late B N Kalla, and late P N Kaul Sayil by conferring upon them Maa Sharika Samman for their roles in community services.
Dr Agnishekhar in his speech described Papaji as the tallest community leader who always worked, not only for Kashmiri community, but was an international social activist who worked for human cause.
A Music programme was also arranged by KSS where famous artists like Kailash Mehra Sadhu,Kishen Langoo , Sushma Kalla, Darshana Mehra, Rohit Dass, Sanjiv Raina and Dileep Langoo performed with their melodious voices and thrilled the audience.
The program concluded with vote of thanks by Dr I K Kilam, vice-president KSS.
