KU law students celebrate Annual Day

SRINAGAR, Dec 16: Students of Law, University of Kashmir, celebrated the Annual Day 2013 with remarkable performances in the field of Kashmiri art, culture, music, drama and skits on various social evils, legal entitlements and legal literacy missions.
Addressing the students, Vice Chancellor KU, Prof Talat Ahmad reminded law students of their role as natural leaders and social engineers of the society. Bidding farewell to 200 senior and outgoing law students,  the VC  remarked that this was  an occasion worth celebration for the university that it we was dispatching 200 young, dedicated and responsible lawyers who shall be committed to lofty ideals of justice.
He also welcomed the freshers and advised them to respect their own high talent and nourish their professional capabilities to compete for the global market in law.
Dean Academic Affairs, Prof A M Shah and Registrar of the University Prof Z A Reshi applauded the role which alumni of the Law Faculty have been playing in different sectors of the society as legislators, administrators, Judges, Lawyers and ministers.
Prof Mohammad Ayub, Dean and Head of the Faculty, presented a detailed profile of the Department from its inception in 1973 to date.
At the conclusion of the annual day, law students honoured dignitaries of the university and teachers of the Faculty for their best services to the Department of Law and the University of Kashmir.
Two students namely Sajad Sarwar of LLB 6th semester and Ulfat Fatima of BA LLB 10th semester were honoured with Best Students Award of batch 2011 and 2009 respectively.
