KU organizes training-cum-recruitment drive

SRINAGAR, Oct 7: Kashmir University (KU) organized training-cum-recruitment drive, which was conducted by Learning Links Foundation (LLF).
A high level delegation from LLF headed by its Associate Director Vinay Mehra visited University of Kashmir and offered training and employment opportunities for the youth of J&K.
The Foundation has four domains of specialization–enhancing the quality of education, citizenship, harnessing the power of technology for educational and social improvement and supporting sustainable social innovation.
Prof Talat Ahmad, Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir, in his remarks said that organisations like LLF are greatly contributing to the cause of education in the country. KU intends to work closely with them to update the curriculum and enhance the skill sets of the teachers of various schools in the Valley, he added.
Prof Shabir Ahmad, Dean FCMS and Director Centre for Career Planning and Counselling, University of Kashmir said that the collaboration with LLF is a serious effort to prepare capable and competent teachers, who can deliver in challenging education systems.
He said that the centre is working to productively channelize the potential of the youth and has initiated various measures to attract the leading national and multinational companies to recruit from Kashmir.
“As a result of these efforts leading companies like Tata Consultancy Services, WIPRO, Ligare, MNC, NTPC, HCL Info systems, ONGC etc are visiting for training and recruitment of youth,” said Prof Bhat.
Vinay Mehra, Associate Director, LLF said that their organisation has made a significant impact in the education sector and is working closely with the Education Departments of various states.
He further added that the LLF is keen to collaborate with the University of Kashmir for upgrading the school education in Kashmir.
Placement Coordinator, Mohammad Ayub Shah said that LLF had previously visited the university campus in the month of May and 17 candidates were selected in the first batch.
