SRINAGAR, Oct 17: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has asked the Kashmir University to issue a fresh advertisement for the appointment of Assistant Registrars (AR), Assistant Controllers of Examinations and Junior Assistants (JA).
Registrar of the Kashmir University, Dr Nisar Ahmad Mir told Excelsior that they had been asked by the LG to re-advertise the posts.
He said that two months ago, the Vice Chancellor of KU Dr Neelofar Hassan Khan sought either an extension of six months for completing the recruitment process for these posts or their re-advertisement. However, no extension was granted but they were asked to re-advertise the posts.
These positions were initially advertised in 2019 and the recruitment process had to be completed within a span of two years as per the University rules. The University, however, failed to complete the process within the stipulated time frame due to COVID-19.
In 2021, former Vice Chancellor Talat Ahmad gave a special six-month extension to complete the recruitment process after the Registrar moved the proposal of extension.
