KU VC inaugurates Refresher Course

SRINAGAR, June 14:  Prof A M Shah, Vice-Chancellor of Kashmir University has stressed upon the need to formulate a robust mechanism so as to develop colleges and universities to achieve intended academic results through continuous exchange of ideas between the faculty and the experts by developing better academic linkages.
Speaking on the occasion of inauguration of Refresher Course in Education, Psychology and Physical Education, which is being attended by 20 participants from various colleges and universities of the State and other parts of  the country,  Prof  Shah emphasized the need for conduct of training for faculty and impressed upon the teachers to keep themselves abreast with the latest developments so as to respond to the ever-increasing demands & queries of students, who have become more inquisitive than ever before.
Prof Zaffar Ahmad Reshi, Registrar KU advised the participants to make the exercise lively by entering into debates with the resource persons and try to share and consolidate their experiences during their stay in such programmes.
Prof Mohi-ud-Din Sangmi, Director ASC, stressed the need for enhancing the academic and intellectual capabilities of the faculty at university and college level. He provided a survey of different policy documents related to higher education and stressed upon creation of necessary infrastructure to upgrade the skills of teachers.
The function was organized for the valediction of the training programme in Applied Sciences and also inauguration of the Refresher course in Education, Psychology and Physical Education.
Prof Khalid Majeed Fazili, Head Department of Biotechnology and Prof Mehmood Ahmad Khan, Dean & Head Faculty of Education, coordinators of the two progarmmes, also spoke on the occasion. Dr M Iqbal Zargar presented a vote of thanks while Dr Tabasum Firdous coordinated the stage on the occasion.
