JAMMU, Sept 19: Kuldeep Sharma, vice president, National Institute of Public Co-operation & Child Development, Union Ministry of Women & Child Development, is being awarded honorary Doctorate Degree in the field of Social Work by University of Asia, Regional Research, Kathmandu (Nepal).
A veteran social worker, Kuldeep Sharma started his career as founder president of J&K Chapter of AICURD in 1984. He has also held the responsibility of president of Rajiv Vikas Kendra in 1992 and was decorated with Rajiv Gandhi Award. He was adjudged as one of the best social workers by J&K Government in 1995.
During his career as a social worker he has initiated opening of learning centers of NIOS in the urban and rural areas of J&K and has also promoted vocational trainings for the youth in various trades like typing, computer, plumber, electrician, beauty parlour along with setting up adult education centers.
