MUMBAI: Bollywood actors Kunal Kapoor and Jimmy Shergill have given voice-overs for Ram and Lakshman, respectively, from the age-old epic of “Ramayana”, in an upcoming animation film “Mahayoddha Rama”.
Directed by Rohit Vaid, the film is produced by Contiloe Pictures. It is slated to release on November 4 this year.
This is the first time that both Kunal and Jimmy have lent their voices for an animation movie.
“It’s the way director Rohit Vaid presented his Ram that was very interesting for me. He is strong, he’s fair, he’s a lover, he’s sensitive, even tough when needed. I think it’s this modernisation of Ram that was very exciting. And I love animation films so it’s been a fun experience to actually be part of it,” Kunal said in a statement here.
Jimmy too is excited about this new stint.
“From growing up listening to stories of Lakshman to voicing his character, the experience has been extremely wonderful. I am glad to be able to bring the contemporary Lakshman to life,” he said.
An epic age old story, told in a new age manner, has Javed Akhtar writing the lyrics while the music is by late Aadesh Shrivastava. (AGENCIES)
