JAMMU, Apr 20: Yash Paul Kundal, former Minister and General Secretary of Jammu & Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) expressed serious concern over the miserable plight of the residents of Samba district particularly those residing in the villages.
He said that poor people in the rural areas are suffering for want of food and other essential commodities.
He urged the administration for announcing ration, food and other essential commodities to the poor people residing in the rural areas like Parmandal, Nud, Sumb and Vijaypur, particularly those who have been living without ration and that too under continuous firing from across International Border (IB) by Pakistan.
He said the UT Administration had promised free ration to the poor residents of the rural areas, adding that nothing has been given even by spending money, not to talk of free.
He demanded that Lieutenant Governor J&K should send a special team to the rural areas and provide free ration to the poor families who cannot afford to pay market price because there is no work available for the poor due to COVID-19 crisis.
He also urged the LG to depute a team in the rural areas of Samba and Jammu district, particularly the villages close to International Border (IB) so that flour, rice and soap may be provided free of cost and sanitizers to the poor.
