Kundal inaugurates week-long election awareness campaign

JAMMU, Apr 1: A week-long general election awareness campaign for the public was declared open by BR Kundal, former Chief Secretary of J&K Government at RM Public School, Chowadi, Jammu.
The campaign is being organized by J&K Rural Sports Club, a Jammu based NGO in collaboration with RM Public School Chowadi and Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School Jammu.
The inaugural function on first day of the campaign, started with a seminar on the topic, “How to create vote awareness amongst public.” Former Chief Secretary and chief guest of the function in his exclusive lecture, followed by question-answer session dealt with all aspects of the subject minutely starting from its causes, effects, repercussions, impacts as well as remedies with regard to their political, social, economic and legal angles and advised the people for mass participation in the coming festival of democracy.
Narinder Singh, president of J&K Rural Sports Club, in his address, highlighted the objectives of the club with regard to the campaign through the medium of education, sports and cultural activities during the week-long programme.
Pritam Singh, Chairman, Environment Advisory Committee, also spoke on the topic and encouraged the participants to cast their vote in the upcoming elections.
Rameshwar Mengi, chairman, RM Public School, Shiksha Niketan Schools Group of Management exalted students for acting as ambassadors for spreading the message to the voters for exercising their votes by educating them about the value of their vote.
Later, the chief guest also declared open the sports event and a friendly badminton match, which was played between school and club members.
