JAMMU, July 14: Pall of gloom descended home villages of Lance Naik Ranjit Singh at Burn village in Bhalwal Block and Gurha Singu in Marh block of Jammu, the home of Sepoy Satish Bhagat, after the mortal remains of two brave martyrs from Jammu arrived their respective homes in decorated special Army vehicles.

These two brave soldiers from JAK Rifles attained martyrdom when they were fired upon by Pakistani troops while patrolling along the Line of Control in Keran sector of Kashmir. The Indian soldiers retaliated affectively but during exchange of fire, they attained supreme sacrifice. These two soldiers succumbed while being shifted to Army base hospital.
The bodies of these brave Army soldiers arrived Jammu Airport in special Indian Air Force aircraft at around 11.30 am today. A large number of people including Army and Civil officers, family members and relatives had arrived the Airport to received the mortal remains of their brave hearts . The decorated coffins of the soldiers with flowers and wrapped in tri-color were then shifted to decorated Army vehicles and then brought to their respective homes.
Heart rending scenes were witnessed when the dead bodies of these martyrs arrived their homes this afternoon. 10 year-daughter, 7 year-old son of L/Nk Ranjit Singh were visibly found shell shocked when the mortal remains of their father carried on the shoulders by the Army officers and jawans arrived their home at Burn village. The relatives and villagers were consoling his wailing wife and parents and the minor children. Entire village was wailing with the family and sharing their grief ans sorrow.
Wreaths were laid by the Army and Civil officers to pay respect to the martyr before cremation. Later, his mortal remains were consigned to flames with full military honours in presence of several officers and political persons including, Minister for Health Bali Bhagat, MLA Nagrota Devinder Singh Rana, Ex-MLA Mula Ram, SDM Jammu North Alyas Khan, SP Rural Jammu and several senior Army officers besides large number of people of the area.
The Army and police officers besides locals of the area jointly performed the last rites of 22-year-old Rifleman Satish Bhagat, son of Jeet Raj Bhagat from Shamachak this afternoon. He is survived by parents, two brothers and a sister. The boy was cricket player of the area and had joined Army recently. With full military honour, his mortal remains were also consigned to the flames amidst blowing of military band.
Ex-ministers Ajay Sadhotra, Mula Ram, Ex-MLA Balwan Singh, NC provincial president Devinder Singh Rana besides SDM Marh Ved Parkash, SP Rural Jammu and several Army officers paid last respect to the martyr.
