SRINAGAR, Aug 11: Kashmir University’s Junior Assistant candidates have sought release of the final selection list, claiming that the Varsity’s lackadaisical approach has delayed the process by 3 years and put them through mental stress.
The University administration finished the last stage of the recruitment process almost four months ago, but the candidates expressed disappointment that the University is still holding back the selection list for unclear reasons.
“Due to the University’s lax attitude during the past three years since we applied for the position, we have experienced tremendous mental pressure,” an aspirant said, adding that the institution has obtrusively delayed the hiring process at various stages over the last three years.
The applicants said that the University announced the Junior Assistant positions in a notification on October 29, 2019, and that the written test was held nearly two years later, on October 27, 2021.
“After a break of 8 months, on April 8, 2022, the shortlist of individuals chosen for the skill/computer test (stage II) was released. The final stage of the hiring procedure, the skills/computer test, was held on April 19, 2022,” they said, adding that since then they have been requesting the release of the selection list from the administration.
They said that the unjustified delay had caused them mental agony. “The examination process was completed as a result of our persistent pleading and begging before the authorities. They do not care that their sluggish behavior is ruining their careers. Because of this, the final selection list is yet to come,” they said.
The candidates lamented that nothing has been done so far despite their repeated pleas for the continuing recruitment process to be finished. “We are now urging the VC of Kashmir University to fix our problem. Otherwise, we’ll go on a mass hunger strike forever,” they said.
