KU’s law graduates express frustration over delay in issuance of degree certificates

Srinagar, May 29: Law graduates from Kashmir University today expressed frustration and concern over the delay in the issuance of their degree certificates, which are crucial for obtaining licenses and pursuing internships with law firms.
The students told Excelsior that despite the University announcing the results for the LLB batch of 2019 on May 3rd, students are yet to receive their official degree certificates, leading to significant career setbacks.
They said the delayed issuance of degree certificates not only affects their ability to pursue internships and job opportunities but also undermines the value of their hard work and dedication. “I have been regularly visiting the controller’s office, and each time, I am assured that my degree certificate will be issued within two to three days. However, it has now been more than 20 days, and there seems to be no progress. Without the degree certificate, our years of hard work and education hold no value. We cannot pursue opportunities or enroll ourselves as advocates,” One student, who wished to remain anonymous, expressed his disappointment.
The delayed issuance of degree certificates has sparked criticism from students who believe that the university’s negligence is hindering their professional growth. They argue that the university’s callous attitude is negatively impacting their career prospects and creating unnecessary obstacles in an already competitive job market. “The delay is unjustified, as the process should have been expedited by the university’s administrative authorities,” another student said.
Meanwhile, the law graduates urged Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, to take prompt action to resolve the issue quickly. “We hope that the authorities will recognize the urgency of the situation and take prompt action to ensure the timely issuance of their degree certificates,” students said.
The controller examination, Majid Zaman, did not answer the reporter’s repeated calls.
