JAMMU, Dec 16: KV Bantalab celebrated its Annual Sports Day in Vidyalaya premises with great zeal and fervor, here today. Bodh Raj, Executive Engineer (Mechanical Division – Jammu) and VMC Member of K V Bantalab was the chief guest, whereas Raj Kumar (Principal, KV Miran sahib, Jammu) was the guest of honour.
Principal V. Santhosh Kumar presented welcome address, wherein he highlighted the importance of games and sports in students’ life and expressed his gratitude to KVS for providing all kinds of facilities for its students to make up their personality.
The programme began with the flag hoisting and flying of colorful balloons in the air by all the chief guest followed by a beautiful welcome song presented by the Tiny-Tots of the Vidyalaya.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said that KVS has no leaps and bounds as far as its growth is concerned. He stressed the need of opening of more & more Kendriya Vidyalayas in every district as it is an ever growing organization and is providing quality school education in the country, where students from every walk of life can sit together and study. He advised students to excel in academics at par with games &sports and also declared the sports meet open.
The celebrations began with a march past by all the four houses followed by an Oath Ceremony by Monika (11th class) National Player in Chess.
Students participated in various races, athleticsand sports activities and the winners of various competitions were awarded with medals and certificates by the chief guest on the occasion.
The piques of the show were the Taekwondo techniques & Yoga Aasanas presented by students from Primary and Secondary Wings. All the students cheered for the respective houses.
