JAMMU, Nov 19: The J&K Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) has sponsored 114 cases in favour of unemployed youth of Jammu Division for establishing income generating units under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) involving an amount of Rs. 324.80 lakh as project cost against which an amount of Rs. 110.86 lakh will be disbursed as subsidy.
It was informed by the Secretary KVIB, Mir Afroz during a meeting convened to review the implementation of PMEGP in Jammu Division. He said that these 114 entrepreneurs will further provide employment avenues to more unemployed persons in their ventures.
Deputy Chief Executive, KVIB Jammu Division, Santosh Saraf informed the meeting that this year subsidy to the tune of Rs. 385.415 lakh has been disbursed till date.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Registrar Cooperatives, Mukesh Thapa, Dy. CEO, Tufail Ahmed Rathore and all the District Officers of Jammu Division.
