PULWAMA, May 31: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Malangpora organized a one-day awareness programme on Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna (PMFBY) here today.
MLA, Pulwama, Mohammad Khalil Bandh with District Development Commissioner Pulwama, Muneer-ul- Islam inaugurated the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA urged upon the farmers to expose themselves to various crops which are included under Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojna. He asked the farmers to take advantage of the schemes.
Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that in the insurance scheme premium rates to be paid by the farmers have been brought down substantially so as to enable more farmers avail insurance cover against crop loss on account of natural calamities.
Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer, Scientists, other allied officers and a large number of farmers were also present on the occasion.
