KVM delegation meets DDC, raises demands

KATHUA, June 7: A delegation of Kathua Vikas Manch (KVM) led by its President, M.N Sharma here today called on Vikas Kundal, District Development Commissioner and discussed developmental issues.
The delegation demanded opening of new Degree College at Sallan Block Dinga Amb and establishment of professional colleges for courses in law, management, nursing and para-medical, physical education and bio-medical sciences at centrally located sites.
The delegation also demanded involvement of industrial units in the restoration and maintenance of water bodies and other allied natural resources.
Establishment of Maternity & Child Care Hospital in Kathua and implementation of sewerage plan system in the district was also demanded.
Delegation members expressed concern over increasing thefts and demanded a proper check on such incidents.
They also demanded creation of three more Assembly segments and two more districts out of present Kathua district.
Construction of flyover bridge on National Highway from Maghar Khad to Sahar Khad, development of leftover portion of Inter State Bus Stand Kathua, provision of zebra crossings, around rotary and traffic signals on Nation Highway at Hatli Morh and Kalibari were also demanded
The DDC assured an appropriate action for meeting the demands raised by KVM and issued on spot instructions to the concerned authorities in this regard.
