JAMMU, June 24: The Leh Apex Body (LAB) will be holding a mass gathering at Nawang Dorjey Stobdan Memorial Stadium in Leh on June 26 to express solidarity and support to education reformist Sonam Wangchuk who extended his fast for two days till Monday.
“The LAB along with all socio-religious organizations of Leh district urged the Gobas/Sarpanchs of all villages and hamlets from Likir to Sakti to mobilize public’s maximum support and responsibility take part in the mass gathering on June 26,” a statement said.
The statement referred to the talks the LAB and KDA had with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs in New Delhi on June 19 seeking Constitutional safeguards for Ladakh under Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution and four points agenda.
Wangchuk was scheduled to end his fast today but he extended it till Monday.
