LAB holds meet on talks with MHA

JAMMU, Aug 9: A meeting of the Leh Apex Body (LAB) was held at Grand Dragon Ladakh under the chairmanship of the Thupstan Chhewang (chairman of Apex Body and president LBA), to discuss next round of talks with Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
The meeting was attended by Tsering Dorjey Lakrook (former Minister), president of Ladakh Gonpa Association, district presidents of BJP Leh, Congress Leh and AAP, representatives of the religious organizations (Ladakh Buddhist Association, Anjuman Imamia, Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam, Christian Community Leh), Chairman Panchayat Coordination Committee Leh and the representative of the women and students’ bodies.
In the meeting, it was unanimously decided to give the five-member list in the committee to be constituted by the Ministry of Home Affairs MHA for further talks. The members selected for talks are Thupstan Chhewang, Shatup Chamba (president, Ladakh Gonpa Association), Nawang Rigzin Jora (former Minister), Ashraf Ali Barcha (president Anjuman Imamia) and Dr Abdul Qayum (president, Anjuman Moin-ul-Islam).
The meeting decided to submit a list of a small team of representatives of the people of Ladakh from both the districts (Apex Body and KDA) to the MHA for a further round of talks.
