JAMMU, Nov 12: The Labour and Social Welfare Departments of Jammu & Kashmir, in collaboration with Shiva Dairy Products, organized a labour welfare awareness program at the Digiana Industrial Estate in Jammu, here today. The program aimed to educate labourers about their rights, safety standards, and various welfare schemes available to them.
Key officials, including Jatinder Aul, President, and Sanjay Chopra, Senior Vice President of Creamy Byte, participated and expressed their support for worker welfare, underscoring the brand’s commitment to community well-being. Shaivaka, Labour Officer, provided insights into Government schemes and labour rights, encouraging workers to take advantage of these opportunities.
Khushboo Kapthe, Gender Specialist from the Social Welfare Department under Mission Shakti, conducted a session on gender equality, emphasizing fair treatment and equal opportunities for women in the workforce. Additionally, Shagun Manchanda, District Mission Coordinator, discussed the positive impact of social welfare initiatives on labourers’ lives, reinforcing the government’s commitment to inclusive development. The departments pledged to extend such awareness programs to other industrial areas, aiming to empower and protect the region’s workforce through comprehensive information on their rights and resources.
